About Melumi
A London-based tile installation team working across the city since 2013.
Melumi started in 2013 as a two-person outfit taking on small bathroom jobs around Bermondsey Street. Thirteen years later the company has grown into a team of 18 people covering six districts across London, from riverside flats to Victorian terraces further out. The workshop is still based at 104 Bermondsey Street, and most of the original working habits — measuring twice, checking substrate moisture before laying a single tile — haven't changed.
Over that time the team has completed 5,012 jobs for 2,574 clients, and 867 of those clients came back for a second project, usually a kitchen after a bathroom, or a hallway after both. That return rate matters more to us than any single big contract, because it means the first job held up.
Mission and approach
Our aim is straightforward: install tile that stays flat, stays sealed, and stays where it's put. We work with porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and large-format slabs, and we plan each layout around substrate condition, movement joints and the realities of older London housing stock — solid floors, uneven walls, damp-prone basements.
We don't promise a transformed home or a finished look overnight. What we offer is a clear scope of work, a written quote, and a crew that turns up on the day agreed. Business hours run Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:30, and we typically reply to a new enquiry within 4 hours.
